What is happening. Supplemental L-Tryptophan increases serotonin precursor availability and may increase serotonin syndrome risk with levomilnacipran.
Mechanism. Tryptophan conversion to serotonin adds to SNRI-mediated serotonin signaling.
Recommendation. Avoid L-Tryptophan supplements during therapy.
