What is happening. Psyllium can complement tirzepatide for postprandial glucose and constipation support, but additive GI slowing can worsen bloating or early satiety.

Mechanism. Psyllium forms a viscous gel that slows carbohydrate absorption and improves stool form. Tirzepatide slows gastric emptying and reduces appetite through incretin receptor activation.

Recommendation. Increase psyllium gradually with plenty of water. Pause or reduce if bloating, constipation, or early satiety worsens during tirzepatide titration.
