What is happening. Antimuscarinic slowing of gastrointestinal transit may increase mucosal injury risk from solid potassium products.
Mechanism. Reduced motility can prolong mucosal exposure to potassium salts.
Recommendation. Use potassium only under clinician direction; report abdominal pain, vomiting, bleeding, or severe constipation.
