What is happening. Magnesium Glycinate can reduce oral Cefdinir absorption when taken together.
Mechanism. Polyvalent cations can form poorly absorbed complexes in the gut or otherwise reduce oral antibiotic bioavailability.
Recommendation. Separate cefdinir from magnesium-containing antacids or high-dose mineral products by at least 2 hours.
