What is happening. Both target mitochondrial function and oxidative stress through distinct routes, so co-supplementation may offer complementary mitochondrial antioxidant support.
Mechanism. Ergothioneine accumulates in mitochondria and scavenges reactive oxygen species; CoQ10 functions in the electron transport chain and as a lipid-phase antioxidant. The two address mitochondrial oxidative stress in different compartments.
Recommendation. Combining is reasonable for mitochondrial support; take CoQ10 with a fat-containing meal for absorption. No timing conflict with ergothioneine.

Effect on the composite score
If both Coenzyme Q10 and Ergothioneine are in the same stack, this pair applies +2 to your Stack Score (per scored synergy row).
