What is happening. St. John's Wort is a strong CYP3A4 inducer and can markedly lower lurasidone exposure.
Mechanism. CYP3A4 induction accelerates lurasidone metabolism, risking loss of antipsychotic or mood-stabilizing efficacy.
Recommendation. Do not combine St. John's Wort with lurasidone.
