What is happening. Tangeretin and quercetin are plant flavonoids with overlapping antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions and are commonly combined in citrus and bioflavonoid formulas.

Mechanism. Both flavonoids inhibit NF-kB-driven inflammation and induce the Nrf2 antioxidant response, giving partially additive effects on oxidative stress and inflammatory signaling.

Recommendation. Combining is reasonable for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory goals; take with food to improve flavonoid absorption. No special separation is required.
