What is happening. Vitamin K2 is sometimes used to support calcium-handling proteins, but it does not prevent calcitriol-induced hypercalcemia.

Mechanism. Vitamin K-dependent proteins participate in bone and vascular mineral biology while calcitriol controls calcium and phosphate absorption.

Recommendation. Use only as adjunctive nutrition support and keep calcium monitoring unchanged.
